Coronavirus Creeps Closer
Tired of being dissed, marginalized, downplayed and generally misunderstood by the President of the United States, COVID-19 invaded the White House in early May, determined to be respected and recognized. In the East Wing residence, a military valet who serves Donald Trump his meals tested positive for the virus on Thursday the 7th, while on Friday the 8th its target was the West Wing office, where Katie Miller, Press Secretary to Vice President Pence and wife of senior White House advisor Stephen Miller, also tested positive. Donald Trump pronounced himself mystified by her change in status: “She tested very good for a long period of time. And then all of a sudden today she tested positive.”
Ummmm… that’s kinda how it works, stable genius.
In March Trump had mused that he possessed “a natural ability” for medicine: “Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.” Quite right; then he’d have killed maybe 10, 15 people before his license was revoked, instead of the 100,000-plus Americans who will die due to his incompetence and inaction.
So COVID-19 has its foot in the door at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, prompting a long-overdue recommendation that staffers telecommute whenever possible and wear face coverings when unable to maintain social distancing in the cramped, rabbit-warren-like quarters of the West Wing. But will it attain its goal? Will it reach the President, and force him to take the public health crisis seriously? To paraphrase Glenn Close in “Fatal Attraction”, coronavirus seems to be saying, “I won’t be ignored, Don!” (Oval Office bunnies, beware!)
Trump and the coronavirus have been cosmic bedfellows for months now, in the form of an extended conjunction between asteroids Troemper and Koronis (our respective celestial referents for these ill-suited partners), locked in their pas de deux since before the virus was identified in early January. With the two now at 3 and 13 Aries, separating at the extreme edge of their ten-degree orb, COVID-19 has ventured one last desperate attempt to get the President to acknowledge its impact and the grim reality it represents, before the chance slips away in a few weeks when their linkage ends. Except that link will always be there; Trump and COVID-19 are joined at the hip – their connection is inescapable in the popular mindset, and however far apart their cosmic stand-ins may drift, Donald Trump will never be contagion-free.
Of course, the skies collude with circumstances on the ground, with the celestial sphere reflecting terrestrial realties. And so it is with these incidents.
Unfortunately the identity of the valet who serves The Donald his Happy Meals isn’t available, but that worthy gentleman nevertheless received his (literal) moment in the sun, represented by asteroid Valetti, which on May 7th was at 12 Taurus, conjoined the transit Sun at 18 Taurus. These are approaching Trump’s natal MC at 24 Taurus, putting the situation on full display for all eyes to see. With Valetti also conjoined Uranus at 7 Taurus, we can only hope the experience of being served by tainted fingers will shock Trump out of his myopia and complacency into a clearer understanding of the peril lesser mortals face, as he prompts states to reopen shuttered businesses before it’s safe to mix and mingle again.
Katie Miller’s COVID-19 outing is even more dramatically displayed, with asteroid Miller exactly conjunct asteroid Whitehouse when her infection was announced on May 8th. (Well, “announced” isn’t quite accurate – the plan was to keep her identity private, but The Donald, ever nimble and sharp as a tack, inadvertently identified her in remarks to the Press.) These points are both conjoined asteroid Nemesis, that point of self-undoing, at 11 Virgo, and all three bodies are embedded at station. Whitehouse turned direct on April 27th, Nemesis followed suit on the 30th, and Miller made its shift on May 5, just three days before Katie Miller tested positive; all remain at their station degrees.
Miller and Whitehouse also oppose a pairing of Neptune and asteroid Achilles at 20 and 22 Pisces, depicting the President’s (Whitehouse) vulnerability and exposure (both Achilles) and COVID-19’s pervasiveness and universality (both Neptune). If the virus can penetrate the White House, where staffers are tested daily with unlimited resources, what hope is there for small business owners who don’t have access to those resources? Whitehouse opposed Neptune also portrays the fantasyland Trump appears mired in, with no concept of the practical issues involved in reopening the economy, while spewing intentionally deceptive rhetoric to encourage a precipitate return to normal.
Katie Miller is also represented by asteroids Kate, Kathryn and Waldman (her birth name was Katherine Waldman). Kathryn at 9 Aquarius conjoins Saturn, representing the presidency, at 1 Aquarius, and is still within orb of square to the 18 Taurus Sun, highlighting her for the period. Asteroids Kate at 19 Libra and Waldman at 17 Cancer form a T-Square with Troemper at 13 Aries, cementing her cosmic connection to the President. This becomes a loose Grand Cross with the inclusion of Pluto at 24 Capricorn, ruler of infection and viruses.
Not only that, but transit Troemper at the time was exactly squared to Trump’s natal Koronis at 13 Capricorn, putting himself and the virus into close contact, in an inimical, stressful relationship. And with natal Koronis opposed natal Nemesis at 16 Cancer, the wheel comes full circle, and includes both Kate, in square, and Waldman conjoined, making Katie Waldman Miller perhaps Nemesis’ chief agent in Donald Trump’s takedown via the coronavirus.
One way or another, medically or politically, COVID-19 seems determined to get him.
