On Friday, 16 February 2024, the long-awaited judgment in the Trump civil business fraud trial was handed down.  Judge Arthur Engoron slammed the Trump Organization with $354 million in fines, also personally fining Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump $4 million each.  Also due, interest on the funds, currently at some $100 million, which continues to accrue until the penalty is paid, for a whopping total of some $450 million.  Included in the judgment, Judge Engoron barred Trump Sr “from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in New York for a period of three years,” further banning his sons for two years.

Regarding the amount of the penalty, Judge Engoron cited the defendants’ continued defiance of the facts and unrepentant state of mind:  “Their complete lack of contrition and remorse borders on pathological.  They are accused only of inflating asset values to make more money.  The documents prove this over and over again.  This is a venial sin, not a mortal sin.  Defendants did not commit murder or arson.  They did not rob a bank at gunpoint.  Donald Trump is not Bernard Madoff.  Yet, defendants are incapable of admitting the error of their ways,” leading the judge to conclude that, if not harshly penalized, they would continue their illegal business practices.

New York Attorney General Letitia James, who brought the case, appeared to media after the judgment with a brief statement:  “Today, justice has been served.  This is a tremendous victory for this state, this nation, and for everyone who believes that we all must play by the same rules — even former presidents.  For years, Donald Trump engaged in massive fraud to falsely inflate his net worth and unjustly enrich himself, his family, and his organization.  While he may have authored the ‘Art of the Deal,’ our case revealed that his business was based on the art of the steal.  When powerful people cheat to get better loans, it comes at the expense of honest and hardworking people.  Everyday Americans cannot lie to a bank to get a mortgage to buy a home, and if they did, our government would throw the book at them.  There simply cannot be different rules for different people.  Now, Donald Trump is finally facing accountability for his lying, cheating, and staggering fraud.  Because no matter how big, rich, or powerful you think you are, no one is above the law.”  James then pledged to seize Trump’s real estate holdings if the “billionaire” is unable to come up with sufficient cash to cover the fines.

A chart for the day shows the players in full celestial array, with the Sun at 27 Aquarius exactly squared asteroid Themis 24 at 27 Taurus, named for the Greek goddess of justice, emphasizing the validity of the ruling (as justice done) and highlighting (Sun) the courts (Themis).  Also in square to the Sun is asteroid Justitia 269 at 22 Taurus, Themis’ Roman counterpart, with both markers of justice conjunct Donald Trump’s natal MC at 24 Taurus, ruling reputation and status in the world.  As well, Mercury at 18 Aquarius, representing decisions and rulings, is exactly conjoined Trump’s natal asteroid Justitia, bringing the ruling home in real time.

Asteroid Laetitia 39 at 17 Aquarius is with transit Mercury and natal Justitia as well, representing the New York Attorney General’s post-judgment press comments (Mercury), as the woman (Laetitia) who brought Trump to justice (Justitia).  Letitia James’ vindication and victory in this case is seen as a trine to Laetitia from asteroid Victoria 12 (named for the Roman goddess of victory) at 19 Libra and a square from asteroid Nike 307 (named for her Greek precursor) at 12 Taurus.

Trump’s conviction for fraud and deception is seen in several ways.  Asteroid Troemper 28130 (our celestial referent for The Donald) appears at 0 Aries, conjoined Neptune at 26 Pisces, planetary ruler of fraud and deception, and squared asteroid Lie 26955 at 1 Cancer, symbolizing the continual lies told for gain.  Lie is embedded at station, making willful deception a cardinal energy of the moment, with Lie turning direct just four days after the ruling.

Neptune lies on the midpoint of Troemper and asteroid James 2335 at 22 Pisces, conjunct each, all opposing asteroid NOT 2587 at 24 Virgo.  James also represents NY AG Letitia James, while NOT is a general disqualifier, a symbol of negation, a roadblock or inability to proceed.  NOT has been opposing Troemper since early December, evoking a series of unfavorable rulings and decisions, with AG James acting as its factotum in this instance.  As well, Troemper remains locked in resonance with asteroid Karma 3811 at 9 Aries, the pair conjunct within ten degrees for more than two years, affording a protracted period of Trump being held accountable.

In addition, on the fraud front, asteroid Bilk 4425 at 23 Capricorn conjoins asteroids Donn 4689 (for both Trump and his elder son), Eric 4954 (for second son Eric Trump) and Aline 266 (for Trump lawyer Alina Habba), at 22, 17 and 21 Capricorn respectively.  Bilk is actually named for an observatory in Dusseldorf, Germany, but operates in its English language usage meaning of “to defraud financially.”  This binds all three defendants and their legal counsel with a symbol for fraud and chicanery.

These points all oppose a transiting extended conjunction of asteroids Nemesis 128 and Achilles 588 at 25 and 26 Cancer.  Achilles signals vulnerability or weakness, while Nemesis represents ruin or destruction, often self-created.  These two currently align with Trump’s natal combination of Saturn, exact with asteroid Karma 3811, at 23 Cancer, and Venus at 25 Cancer.  Together, this grouping indicates being held accountable (Karma, Saturn) for prior misdeeds (Karma) involving financial matters (Venus) in a business or career setting (Saturn). 

Judge Arthur Engoron is seen as asteroid Arthur 2597, which at 5 Leo is opposing an exact Venus/Pluto conjunction at 0 Aquarius, with Venus again representing finances and Pluto ruling criminality and corruption.  The Arthur/Pluto connection also grants Judge Engoron considerable power in the situation.  A T-Square with Jupiter at 9 Taurus, ruling judges and the courts, places this in its proper context, while the inclusion of asteroid Swindle 8690 at 11 Scorpio in the mix creates a Grand Cross.  Swindle is another term associated with financial fraud, completing a cosmic image of the circumstances of the day.  Finally, a square from Saturn at 8 Pisces to asteroid Whitehouse 4036 at 12 Gemini depicts the harsh penalties (both Saturn) inflicted on a former US President (Whitehouse).
