US Midterm Election Preview, Part Two:  This Time, It’s Senatorial

Although, barring an Act of God or a flagrant abuse of power, a Democrat takeover of the US House of Representatives in the Midterm Elections on November 3rd seems assured, given the mood of the country, control of the Senate is much less certain.  That the Upper Chamber is in play at all is due solely to the incompetence, venality, and narcissistic focus of Donald J. Trump, who continues to spread anarchy, instability and failure to any and all who come into contact with him, regardless of Party affiliation.

Impeachment Deja Vu

Although removed from office almost a month ago, Donald J. Trump continues to set presidential records.  Only president to lose the popular vote in both general elections where he was on the ballot; only president to never reach a 50% approval rating during his term in office; only president to be impeached twice; only president to be tried after leaving office; and now, the president with the most bipartisan impeachment and majority conviction in history.

The Travails of Troemper

 

If that title seems reminiscent of “The Perils of Pauline”, it’s intended to be. The melodrama that’s been going on in and around 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue of late certainly sounds like some old, over-acted radio drama, full of a cast of one-dimensional characters. Villains, victims, buffoons and bastards abound – all we’re lacking is a hero.
