Rhadamanthus 38083
Rhadamanthus was a mythic king of ancient Crete, son of Zeus and Europa, and brother of Minos.
He was a judge, noted for his impartiality, wisdom and intelligence, but also for the harshness of the punishments he meted out. His brother Minos was so jealous of his gifts that he drove him into exile. On the Greek mainland, Rhadamanthus married Alcmene and thus became the step-father of the hero Heracles, whom he tutored. After his death, Zeus made him a judge of the dead in the underworld. The name Rhadamanthus was given to a TNO (Trans-Neptunian Object) in the Kuiper Belt region of the solar system, near Pluto.
Astrologically, Rhadamanthus has to do with integrity, justice, judgement and punishments. These may seem harsh, but are generally deserved; scrupulous honesty and an inability to be swayed, corrupted or influenced is a hallmark of individuals with a strong Rhadamanthus placement. Negative characteristics include inflexibility, sternness, a legalistic approach to situations, and strict adherence to the letter of the law, with no empathy or consideration for human failings.
