On Sunday, 19 February 2023, transit asteroid Troemper exactly conjoined transit Pluto, symbol of criminality and devastating change or transformation, inaugurating a new cycle for the former president.  For this update on Donald Trump’s legal woes, I’ll be focusing on progressions, an astrologic technique I rarely employ.  The birth chart is a dynamic thing, continuing to evolve and unfold as we age; secondary progressions are a method of forecasting which equates one day of planetary movement with one year of life.  So, if you want to know what things are highlighted and on the move for age 30, for example, you look to a month after birth. 

As progressed points change direction in the sky via stations, come into contact with natal points, or interact with each other, symbiotic events are triggered which describe the new patterns.  If, for example, a Mercury which is retrograde at birth comes to station and returns to direct motion at age 13, you can expect that early difficulties with education and communication issues may somewhat abate at that time.  The underlying issues are there lifelong, but conditions change, people adapt, and as we gather more life experience, we can learn to overcome some challenges or take advantage of new opportunities.

In this case, we want to take a look at where The Donald stands vis-à-vis the most serious threats to his freedom from the Justice system, predominantly in reference to asteroids which represent the investigators and prosecutors who lead the legal actions against him.  And this is quite a handful of individuals at this point, so we’d best get started!

I’ve pulled a few names from the dizzying plethora of legal crises Trump finds himself currently embroiled in, as the most likely to bear fruit.  They all seem to be coming to maturity at once, which is perhaps unsurprising with asteroid Troemper also traveling with asteroid Karma for the balance of the year, signaling a period of being called to account for prior bad acts.

Fulton County, Georgia DA Fani Willis could be first over the finish line in the rush to indict Trump criminally.  The Special Purpose Grand Jury there which has been investigating Trump’s interference in the Peach State’s 2020 election tabulation has completed its report, portions of which were released on February 16^th.  These confirm what we already knew – that there was no significant fraud that would have altered the result of the election – and what was unexpected but not surprising – that the Grand Jury suspects several witnesses lied under oath.  A key piece of evidence in that case was the recorded phone call from Trump to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, asking him to “find” the votes needed to reverse the election.  DA Willis has stated that indictments in the case are “imminent.”

Fani Willis is represented celestially by asteroids Fanny, Fan and Willis.  Natal asteroid Fanny at 23 Taurus closely conjoins Trump’s natal MC at 24 Taurus, potentially affecting his career and reputation.  Natal asteroid Fan at 22 Virgo is tightly T-squared Trump’s natal Sun/Moon polarity at 22 Gemini and 21 Sagittarius, potentially impacting his self-image (from president to convicted felon?) and residence (from the White House to the Big House?).  Natal asteroid Willis at 6 Cancer conjoins natal Donn at 7 Cancer and natal Mercury at 8 Cancer, opposed natal asteroid Whitehouse at 4 Capricorn, in a T-square with natal Neptune at 5 Libra.  This focuses the DA (Willis) on issues of Trump’s (Donn) plans and statements (Mercury) regarding his deception about the election outcome and a conspiracy (both Neptune) to remain unlawfully in his office (Whitehouse) after electoral (Mercury also) defeat.

By progression, asteroid Fanny at 13 Gemini is just coming into orb with the natal Sun at 22 Gemini, also conjunct natal Uranus with natal asteroid Themis at 17 Gemini, and trine natal asteroid Justitia at 18 Aquarius.  Symbolically, this images Willis (Fanny) penetrating into Trump’s inner orbit (Sun) in ways which may seem controversial or yield shocking results (both Uranus), while interacting with natal energies relating to justice (Themis and Justitia are named respectively for the Greek and Roman goddesses of justice) in an attempt to mete it out equally (Uranus).

Progressed asteroid Fan at 23 Libra is trine the natal Sun and conjoined natal asteroid d’Arrest at 24 Libra, signaling that charges may be forthcoming.  Fan is also exactly squared natal Saturn at 23 Cancer, enforcer of the law and arbiter of punishment, as well as widely squared natal asteroid Nemesis at 16 Cancer, indicating ruin or downfall, often self-created.

Progressed asteroid Willis at 11 Leo conjoins natal Pluto at 10 Leo, imbuing the DA with the power to transform Trump’s circumstances, especially as regards criminal activity.  Willis is also conjoined progressed Saturn at 3 Leo, progressed Pluto at 12 Leo, progressed Nemesis at 17 Leo, and progressed Donn at 18 Leo, combining energies of punishment (Saturn) for criminality (Pluto) leading to ruin (Nemesis) for Trump (Donn).  Willis with Nemesis also casts the DA in the role of rival, opponent, or arch enemy.  Willis further joins a fairly tight T-Square formed by opposition to progressed Justitia at 8 Aquarius and progressed d’Arrest at 7 Scorpio, cementing her ability to bring charges (d’Arrest) and enact justice (Justitia) in real time (progressions).

Of course, Trump has already been charged, in a civil suit brought by New York DA Letitia James last September, alleging fraud by himself, the Trump Organization and his adult children as regards their business dealings and tax filings.  But as a civil case, no jail time is threatened, though James also issued criminal referrals to federal prosecutors and the IRS.

Letitia James is represented celestially by asteroids Laetitia (alternate spelling) and James.  Natal asteroid Laetitia at 4 Taurus is semisquare to both natal Themis at 17 Gemini and the natal Sun at 22 Gemini, also squared natal Pluto at 10 Leo and inconjunct natal Neptune at 5 Libra.  This again binds a prosecutor (Laetitia) with Trump personally (Sun) and the theme of being brought to justice (Themis) for criminal acts, with devastating consequences (both Pluto), based in allegations of fraud and deception (both Neptune).  Natal asteroid James at 1 Aries squares natal Mercury at 8 Cancer, trines Pluto, and opposes Neptune.  This continues the themes of criminal (Pluto) fraud (Neptune), adding the element of records, filings and documents (all Mercury).

Progressed asteroid Laetitia at 0 Gemini is now trine natal Neptune, facilitating the investigation into fraud, and opposes natal asteroid Troemper at 2 Sagittarius, our celestial referent for Trump, once again binding her to him personally.  Progressed Laetitia is also squared Trump’s progressed Sun at 6 Virgo, still opposing his progressed Troemper at 4 Sagittarius, and completing a Grand Cross with progressed Damocles at 8 Pisces, representing the doom hanging overhead, about to descend at any moment.

Progressed asteroid James at 7 Aries is more tightly squared natal Mercury and exactly squared natal asteroid Donn at 7 Cancer, more closely trined natal Pluto, and still opposed natal Neptune, hitting all the same marks as in the natal chart.   But aspects to additional progressed points tell the tale of James’ frontrunner status in bringing charges:  progressed James is closely sextile progressed Justitia at 8 Aquarius, and lies at the Apex of a Yod, or Finger of Destiny pattern, with inconjunct aspects to the progressed Sun at 6 Virgo and progressed d’Arrest at 7 Scorpio, showing the DA’s fated (Yod) involvement in Trump’s (Sun) current legal jeopardy (Justitia, d’Arrest).  A Boomerang Yod is formed with James’ exact opposition to progressed Neptune at 7 Libra, identifying fraud and deception as at the root of the investigation.

Closely related to Letitia James’ civil suit is another case, of a criminal nature, being investigated by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.  Bragg is looking into many of the same matters involving willful deception of financial institutions and fraudulent tax filings, as well as possible campaign finance law violations in the hush money payouts to porn star and Trump inamorata Stormy Daniels weeks before the 2016 election.  Bragg began presenting evidence to a Grand Jury in late January 2023.

Alvin Bragg is represented celestially by asteroids Alvin and Bragg, for a seamless fit of “as above, so below.”  Natal asteroid Alvin at 29 Scorpio conjoins the 24 Scorpio IC, as well as natal asteroid Troemper at 2 Sagittarius, giving Bragg angular force and power in Trump’s story, and bringing them into close personal contact.  An exact T-square with the 29 Leo/Aquarius Ascendant/Descendant axis grants Bragg the ability to affect how Trump is viewed (Ascendant) and how he relates to others (Descendant).  A square to natal Mars at 26 Leo identifies him as an adversary.  Natal asteroid Bragg at 5 Capricorn falls in a T-Square, opposed Mercury at 8 Cancer and exactly squared Neptune at 5 Libra on the fulcrum.  This underscores the major themes of his investigation – fraudulent (Neptune) documents (Mercury).

Progressed asteroid Alvin at 1 Sagittarius has pulled even closer to natal Troemper, also conjoining progressed Troemper at 4 Sagittarius, perhaps a sign that Bragg is “closing in” on Trump’s illegality.  Progressed Alvin also keys on the progressed Sun/Damocles opposition to form a T-Square, putting another face on that looming threat.

Progressed asteroid Bragg at 25 Sagittarius is aligning with Trump’s natal Sun/Moon polarity at 22 Gemini and 21 Sagittarius, further injecting Bragg into his personal life.  Bragg is also trined progressed asteroid Karma at 27 Leo, suggesting he may have an easier time of it in holding Trump accountable for his misdeeds.

We turn now to the US Justice Department, with at least two active criminal investigations into the 45^th president, one involving his actions post-election 2020, leading up to and including the January 6^th insurrection; and the other constellating about his improper use and criminal obstruction of the return of classified documents held illegally at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, post-presidency.

Officially under the auspices of US Attorney General Merrick Garland, both cases are now headed by Jack Smith, appointed as Special Counsel by Garland to oversee and conclude the investigations, at which point he will submit recommendations to the AG regarding charges to be filed, if any.

Merrick Garland is represented celestially by asteroid Merrick; Jack Smith is represented by asteroids Jackschmitt (a CNA – Compound Name Asteroid – comprised of both first and last names strung together as one word, which here approximates Jack Smith’s full name, with a German variant for Smith as the surname) and Smith.

Natal asteroid Merrick at 12 Leo conjoins natal Pluto, granting Merrick Garland great personal power over Trump.  Merrick also opposes natal asteroid Justitia at 18 Aquarius, for the Department he heads.  Natal asteroid Jackschmitt at 15 Aquarius conjoins Justitia, opposing Pluto and Merrick, binding the two men in a “job-sharing” role to bring Trump to justice.  Natal asteroid Smith at 22 Virgo T-Squares Trump’s natal Sun/Moon polarity at 22 Gemini and 21 Sagittarius, making Jack Smith someone of pivotal importance in Trump’s self-identity and potentially affecting his place of residence.

Progressed asteroid Merrick at 8 Virgo conjoins Trump’s progressed Sun at 6 Virgo, bringing him into real-time contact with the former president.  Merrick also exactly opposes progressed Damocles at 8 Pisces, that looming threat, and T-Squares progressed Troemper at 4 Sagittarius, also semisquare natal d’Arrest at 24 Libra and sextile progressed d’Arrest at 7 Scorpio, activating both the inborn potential for charges being filed (natal d’Arrest) and the current atmosphere (progressed d’Arrest) for same.

Amazingly, progressed asteroid Jackschmitt at 8 Aquarius has come to exactly conjoin progressed asteroid Justitia, making Jack Smith the man of the hour in the Justice Department’s investigation, and fully actualizing the natal potential of that conjunction (three degrees wide at birth) to act as an agent of bringing Trump to justice.  Jackschmitt also participates in a T-Square by opposing progressed Saturn at 3 Leo and squaring progressed d’Arrest at 7 Scorpio, enhancing Smith’s ability to bring charges (d’Arrest) and enact penalties (Saturn).

Progressed asteroid Smith at 8 Libra conjoins both natal and progressed Neptune, at 5 and 7 Libra, and exactly squares natal Mercury at 8 Cancer, with Smith on the fulcrum of a T-Square with natal asteroid Whitehouse at 4 Capricorn.  This identifies Smith as pivotal (fulcrum) in both cases – the investigation into a conspiracy (Neptune) to retain the presidency (Whitehouse) unlawfully, and the deception (Neptune) regarding the classified documents (Mercury).

We’ve just profiled five investigations and five prosecutors, all constituting dire, immediate threats to Donald Trump, all reflected in the potential of the birth chart, come to fruition via progressions.  In closing, let’s step back a pace to view the full picture.

The entirety of this mixed bag of legal crises can be summed up in a single Grand Cross pattern in Trump’s progressed chart.  The progressed Sun conjoined progressed Merrick, opposed progressed Damocles, squared progressed Laetitia and progressed Fanny, also squared progressed Alvin and progressed Troemper, says it all.  This brings two referents for the former president together with four referents for those leading investigations into him, and the threat of indictment and prosecution looming overhead.
