Trumping Trump: Legal Nemeses Mueller & Avenatti

There are two principal sources to which Trump Resisters look for relief from the malaise, corruption and chaos which is the current administration: Special Counsel Robert Mueller, leading the FBI investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential campaign; and lawyer Michael Avenatti, representing adult film star Stormy Daniels, with two civil lawsuits against the president. The two men could not be more different, but both present significant dangers to the completion of the Trump presidency.

Clash of the Mini-Titans: Trump and Kim to Meet

The White House announced Thursday evening, March 8th that President Donald Trump had agreed to meet face to face for talks with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, tentatively in May 2018. The decision, apparently made on the spur of the moment without resort to advisors or experts, will, if adhered to, lead to the first personal meeting of an American President and a North Korean leader, since that state’s establishment in 1948.

Elon Musk Enroute to Mars

On February 6^th, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk sent his old red Tesla Roadster into orbit to the Asteroid Belt, complete with a mannequin driver dubbed “Starman” and David Bowie’s “Life on Mars” playing on an endless loop. The SpaceX CEO, listed by Forbes magazine as the 53^rd richest man in the world, has become obsessed with establishing a colony on Mars, and has spent a considerable amount of his vast fortune, estimated at nearly $21 billion, on achieving that goal.

In Like Flynn

On Friday, December 1^st, 2017, former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn pled guilty to a charge of lying to the FBI, and agreed to cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation into the Trump campaign’s possible collusion with Russia during the election, and subsequent acts which may constitute obstruction of justice on the part of the president.
