On 10 September 2025, Charlie Kirk, conservative activist, podcaster and founder of Turning Point USA, was killed with a single shot to the neck at an open-air appearance on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, attended by some 3000 people.  Close to President Trump, JD Vance, and the next generation of the Trump family, Kirk was instrumental in rallying young men to support Trump in his 2024 electoral victory.  He is survived by his wife Erika and two young children.

While there are no exact asteroid matches for either Charles or Kirk, there are several suitable substitutes.  Asteroids Kirkland 19589, Kirkpatrick 9902 and Kirkwood 1578 all begin with his surname, while asteroid Church 10343 can also be used to represent Kirk, which is the Scottish word for church.  The closest English-language equivalents of Charles are the feminine variants Charlene 5878 and Charlotte 543.  All of these cosmic stand-ins have direct connections to the theme of death on the day of his murder, which will come as no surprise to frequent readers.

Let’s first set the stage by saying that the Lunar Eclipse of the 7^th at 15 Pisces, just three days prior to the shooting, fell closely conjoined Kirk’s natal asteroid Gunn 18243 at 16 Pisces (Charlie Kirk born 13 October 1993, no time available).  This is reminiscent of the first assassination attempt on Donald Trump in July of 2024, which also featured Lunar Eclipse activation of natal Gunn.  Moreover, Gunn exactly opposes natal asteroid Church (“kirk”) at 15 Virgo, conjoined by the Sun at the eclipse, tying Kirk personally to the issue of firearms in this tense, febrile eclipse energy.

Most emphatically, both Charles referents are tied to Pluto, modern lord of death and planetary ruler of homicide.  Charlene at 4 Leo, conjoined asteroid Academia 829 at 5 Leo, opposes Pluto at 1 Aquarius, establishing death (Pluto) for Charlie (Charlene) in an academic or collegiate setting (Academia).  This polarity forms a T-Square with asteroids Nemesis 128 and Charlotte 543 on the fulcrum, conjoined at 4 and 5 Leo.  Nemesis represents ruin, undoing and destruction, an enemy or opponent.

The huge visibility and newsworthiness of the event is seen in the conjunction of the Sun and Mercury, at 18 and 15 Virgo respectively, resting on the fulcrum of a second T-Square, squared to both asteroid Kirkwood at 20 Sagittarius and a pairing of asteroids Anubis 1912 and Assafin 28987 at 17 and 19 Gemini.  This highlights (Sun) Kirk (Kirkwood) as the target of an assassin (Assafin is closest, a sort of “assassin” with a cosmic lisp, and has been active in prior assassination attempts, including those aimed at Trump in 2024) while speaking publicly (Mercury), with deadly results (Anubis, named for the ancient Egyptian deity governing funerary rites).

The remaining Kirk stand-ins repeat the dominant theme of pending mortality.  Asteroid Kirkpatrick at 7 Virgo conjoins asteroid Requiem 2254 at 4 Virgo, named for the funeral mass for the dead, in a third T-Square incorporating an opposition to Damocles 5335 at 2 Pisces, the unseen, looming threat or peril which leads to disaster; and a square to Uranus at 1 Gemini, ruling shootings, with asteroid Osiris 1923 at 6 Gemini, named for the Egyptian god of the dead.

Asteroid Kirkland at 4 Capricorn conjoins TNO Ixion 28978 at 5 Capricorn, named for the first murderer in Greek myth, and a stationary asteroid Rip 7711 at 8 Capricorn, which functions as a death indicator in the form of the acronym RIP, “Rest In Peace,” a common tombstone inscription.  This forms yet another T-Square, squaring a pairing of Saturn at 29 Pisces (ancient lord of death, also representing conservatism) with Neptune at 1 Aries (ruling fanaticism and zealotry); and a standout conjunction of asteroids Gunn, Atropos 273 and Losse 340579 at 0, 5 and 8 Libra.  Gunn of course is the firearm employed; Atropos is named for the mythic Greek Fate who severs the thread of life at death; and Losse can be seen as the “loss” of Charlie Kirk’s life, but also has an additional application to the story, in that the shooter was positioned on the roof of the nearby Losee Center, about 150 yards away.  We see here a deadly (Atropos) shooting (Gunn) from the Losee (Losse) Center.

Amazingly, Kirk was in the process of a “Losse Return” at the time, with the asteroid having just reconnected with its natal degree of 4 Libra, activating its potential.  Even more astoundingly, we find natal Losse exactly conjunct natal asteroid Assafin, also conjoined natal Requiem at 2 Libra.  This defines the inborn potential for a politically-based murder (Assafin, Requiem) at the Losee Center (Losse).

Reinforcing the potential for death in an academic setting is a natal conjunction of Damocles and Rip at 22 and 24 Capricorn, the looming, unsuspected demise, squared the natal Sun at 20 Libra, with natal Academia at 25 Libra and natal Jupiter at 24 Libra, ruling higher education generally.  Transit Mars was the catalyst for this potential, the spur to action, conjoined Sun/Academia/Jupiter from 22 Libra.

Further allusions to Kirk’s sad end can be seen in an interlocking pair of stelliums, extending from natal Mars at 11 Scorpio through natal asteroid Kirkpatrick at 27 Scorpio.  The first portion includes asteroid Nemesis at 12 Scorpio and Mercury at 15 Scorpio, applying to the “hinge” point of this massive conglomeration, which is asteroid Charlotte at 20 Scorpio.  Together, this portion spells “ruin or destruction (Nemesis) from an attack (Mars) during a public address (Mercury) for Charlie (Charlotte).”

The balance of the pattern comprises Charlotte conjunct asteroid Anubis at 23 Scorpio, Pluto at 24 Scorpio, Ixion at 26 Scorpio, ending with asteroid Kirkpatrick.  Here we establish both the first and last names of Charlie Kirk (Charlotte, Kirkpatrick), identified as dying (Anubis) via murder (Ixion, Pluto).  This latter grouping is squared by natal Saturn at 23 Aquarius, reiterating the themes of death and a conservative outlook.

Thinking back to the T-Squares active at the shooting, we can see how they interface with the natal chart, which supplies key elements to convert these into full-fledged Grand Crosses.  Natal Gunn at 16 Pisces fills in the transit Sun/Mercury-Kirkwood-Assafin/Anubis T-Square, while a triple conjunction of natal asteroids Kirkwood, Karma 3811 and Osiris at 2, 6 and 10 Sagittarius fills in the transit Damocles-Uranus/Osiris-Requiem/Kirkpatrick T-Square.  Karma here suggests a certain “fated” or “predestined” quality to the assassination.  Natal Charlene at 7 Cancer fills in the transit Saturn/Neptune-Kirkland/Ixion/Rip-Gunn/Atropos/Losse T-Square.  The Pluto-Charlene/Academia-Nemesis/Charlotte T-Square is reinforced by natal asteroid Lachesis 120 at 3 Scorpio, named for the Fate who determines the span of life.

As of this posting (9 AM EDT 9/12/25), the identity of Charlie Kirk’s killer remains a mystery.

[Quick aside here – when video footage of the unknown shooter on the roof was released a day after the murder, I noted that an adjacent building to the Losee Center, front and center of the camera angle, was marked “Sparks Automotive.”  Knowing there was a Sparks asteroid (#15129), I tossed it into the chart.  Transit Sparks appears at 11 Virgo, bridging the gap between the Kirkpatrick/Requiem and Sun/Mercury conjunctions, conjoined both.  In the natal chart, Sparks at 2 Sagittarius is an exact match for Kirkwood, joining the stellium with Karma and Osiris.]
