To be fair, orange was the Old Trump, too, at least in terms of spray tan and hair dye.  But in this next solar year, Donald J. Trump may find himself moving into a more sartorial realm with orange, in the form of a prison jumpsuit.  On May 25^th, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance gave The Donald an early birthday present when he empaneled a Grand Jury to look into possible criminal charges to be filed against the former US President (just a day before a Lunar Eclipse which conjoined asteroid Nemesis, noted for ruin and downfall).  Prosecutors have been investigating Trump, the Trump Organization and its officers since at least 2018, and the convening of a Grand Jury signals that they are ready to present evidence and potentially seek indictments.

Of course none of this comes as a surprise to the savvy asteroid watcher; in fact, things are right on cosmic schedule.  Among a plethora of stationary points in his nativity, all of which indicate an outsized impact on character or biography, far greater than their typical influence, Donald Trump’s celestial lineup is stuck on an asteroid named d’Arrest.  D’Arrest indicates cessation of movement, a halt in the proceedings, if you will.  Metaphorically, it is any sort of pause, discontinuance, or termination.  Linked with asteroid Valentine (which Trump’s is, by close inconjunct to natal Valentine at 23 Taurus) it can suggest heart attack or heart failure, for example.  But it also can be quite literal, in the form of legal arrest, charges or indictments filed, being taken into custody.

At 24 Libra natally, Trump’s d’Arrest turned direct on June 16^th, 1946, two days after his birth, making it one of the most empowered and impactful points in his chart.  To date, its potentiality for putting Trump behind bars has been held in check by an even greater power – a stationary direct Jupiter at 17 Libra, which turned direct within hours of his birth, and regularly showers off The Donald from the shitstorms he creates.  A true “Teflon Don”, Trump has thus far avoided serious consequences for a lifetime of playing fast and loose with the rules. 

But something’s changed.

Enter Pluto, the great leveler.  When Pluto invades your life, if things don’t go topsy-turvy, then you haven’t been paying attention.  It was Pluto’s retrograde station at 17 Capricorn in April of 2016, in exact square to Trump’s natal Jupiter, that transformed his (and the nation’s) political landscape (Jupiter-ruled), bringing him first the Republican nomination for president, and then the general election victory that fall.

Pluto initially seemed to lead Trump to the apotheosis of his life and career, but the seeds were already being planted for his downfall.  Flying under the radar previously as a relative bit player in the Billionaires Club, the enhanced scrutiny brought by the world’s premiere office began to illuminate just how crooked, corrupt and venal Trump actually was, with Pluto also ruling scandal and criminality. 

Pluto is often like that, building one up just to knock one down, and having elevated Trump far beyond his capacity, it has now set its sights on grinding him to dust, thoroughly and finely.  Because Pluto is currently squaring d’Arrest, and the process of Trump’s fall can be clocked with precision to that transit.

It was within days of Pluto first entering 24 Capricorn and the exact square to d’Arrest on February 20^th, 2020, that the nation registered its first COVID-19 deaths in Seattle, Washington (this was amended months later to include deaths in Santa Clara, California on the 6^th, but the initial news impact and shock value of the Seattle deaths came February 26^th).  Trump’s inept, feckless response to the virus, which has since claimed more than 600,000 American lives, was a proximate cause of his electoral defeat that November.  Pluto began setting the stage for that debacle as soon as it connected with d’Arrest, and its station retrograde on April 25^th in exact square found the US in lockdown, with cases on the rise and local and state governments overwhelmed by the crisis, without swift and decisive action by the Trump administration.

Pluto had backed off the 24^th degree of Capricorn by early July, but at its slow rate of movement, it was never more than two degrees away, well within orb of the square as Trump’s political career came to screeching halt with his decisive election loss in November.  Pluto moved to square d’Arrest exactly again in late December, just as Trump attempted to strongarm the Georgia Secretary of State into “finding” him enough votes to reverse Biden’s win in the Peach State, in a taped phone call from January 2.  That call, as well as his incitement to insurrection at the Capitol on January 6^th, form the basis of two more investigations that could well lead to charges filed, for election tampering and sedition.

Pluto has moved on ahead, but made an about-face at its April 27^th station retrograde, and is heading back for one last pass on its square to d’Arrest.  Pluto’s subsequent direct station occurs October 6^th, exactly squared d’Arrest, with Pluto imbuing 24 Capricorn with its energies from August 10^th thru November 29^th, marking the most likely period for charges to be filed.  The Grand Jury has been empaneled for six months, taking us to late November, and Manhattan DA Cy Vance is retiring at the end of the year, so he’ll doubtless want to have the case against Trump in place before he goes, though the timing of the many additional investigations into The Donald’s misdeeds both in and out of office is less certain.

As well, there are indicators in Trump’s 2021 Solar Return (SR) that d’Arrest could have a starring role in the year’s events (cast for 1:46 PM EDT 13 June 2021 at Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida).  At 20 Cancer, SR d’Arrest is traveling with SR asteroid Troemper, our celestial referent for Trump, at 24 Cancer, and SR asteroid Manhattan at 28 Cancer, representing the most likely source for indictments, linking Trump personally (Troemper) with the theme of New York state (Manhattan) charges (d’Arrest).  These conjoin the SR Moon at 29 Cancer, suggesting that a change of residence might be in the offing, impelled by a T-Square with SR Pluto opposed from 26 Capricorn and SR asteroid Achilles in square at 27 Aries, which denotes weakness or vulnerability.  This combines criminality (Pluto) with exposure to ruin (Achilles), and opens the door to a devastating transformation (Pluto) in circumstance, with a prison cell potentially as Trump’s new Home Sweet Home (Moon). Traveling with Pluto is asteroid Themis at 25 Capricorn, named for the Greek goddess of justice, ensuring that justice is done.

In addition, SR d’Arrest conjoins natal asteroid Nemesis at 16 Cancer, which exactly conjoins natal asteroid Bilk, both also now squared by transit SR Bilk at 13 Aries.  The New York state investigation revolves around financial and tax indiscretions – essentially, the bilking and defrauding of insurance companies, financial institutions, and the IRS, as assets were variously inflated or devalued to suit Trump’s personal interest in the moment.  When seeking to use properties as collateral for loans, he exaggerated their worth, and when filing taxes he depreciated them to reduce his tax burden.  Natal Nemesis/Bilk activated by SR d’Arrest and Bilk states that a lifetime pattern (natal) of shady financial dealings (Bilk) may finally be called to account and receive retribution (Nemesis) in real time this year (SR) with indictments (d’Arrest) for fraud (Bilk).

Even Jupiter, so long a staunch ally, seems to be pulling in its horns somewhat, with SR Jupiter at 2 Pisces conjoined by SR Damocles at 0 Pisces, and opposed SR asteroid Karma at 1 Virgo:  there is potentially an outsized (Jupiter) doom descending (Damocles) based in prior acts (Karma).  T-Squaring this polarity from 1 Sagittarius is SR Nemesis, effectively bringing the natal potential full circle, with Trump’s culpability and malfeasance coming home to roost.

Also of note, asteroid Cyrus, for Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance, which at 4 Libra conjoins the SR Ascendant at 29 Virgo, indicating a prominence for the year, especially related to Trump’s public image and how others see him.  SR Cyrus also conjoins Trump’s natal Neptune at 5 Libra, planetary ruler of fraud and deception, which also governs prisons and incarceration.  Natally asteroid Cyrus at 18 Libra is also at station (it turned direct June 5^th 1946), making persons of that name an embedded factor in Trump’s biography, as the first DA ever to file charges against a former US President certainly would be.  Natal Cyrus conjoins natal d’Arrest, and squares ruinous Nemesis at 16 Cancer, for the icing on this celestial cake. It’s also part of a Grand Trine Kite pattern, with trines to asteroids Themis (“justice”) at 17 Gemini conjunct the 22 Gemini Sun, and Justitia at 18 Aquarius (her Roman counterpart), with the “string” an opposition from the Sun and Themis to the Moon and Achilles at 21 and 24 Sagittarius. This establishes Cy Vance as a potential agent of justice (Themis, Justitia), able to capitalize on Trump’s weakness and vulnerability (Achilles).

With the SR Sun at 22 Gemini exactly squared SR asteroid Lie at 22 Virgo, we see the fertile ground for Trump indictments, based in his inherent, essential dishonesty, such a defining feature of his nature.  In a final act of irony, the Sun is also conjoined by SR asteroid Orangia at 18 Gemini, “coloring” Trump’s year.

Gee, maybe orange really is the new Trump!
