Asteroid Church, that is, though both stories chronicled below do involve actual physical structures used as houses of worship. Back-to-back displays on January 28th & 29th of asteroid Church, conjoined the manifestation-evoking Quasar at 8 Cancer, pumped up by Jupiter at 17 Cancer, ran the gamut from groundbreaking promotions to Constitution-threatening arrests, as Sarah Mullally was elevated to become the first female Archbishop of Canterbury, and journalist Don Lemon was indicted for reporting on an anti-ICE protest in a St. Paul, Minnesota church.
CHANGE OF HABIT
The Church of England elevated Sarah Mullally as Archbishop of Canterbury on 28 January 2026, the first female to act as spiritual leader of the 80-million-member global Anglican Communion. Mullally, formerly the first female Bishop of London, was elected in December, with the vote confirmed this week, at which point she formally assumed office as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, though her installation and enthronement will not occur until March 25th. The promotion also admits Mullally into the United Kingdom’s House of Lords.
This act can be seen as the first trump of Neptune finally moving into Aries for its 13-year sojourn. The first degree of Aries is a World Axis point, denoting global impact and attention, and Neptune rules spirituality, also associated with religion and ecclesiastics (further presided over by Jupiter). Aries indicates leadership and fresh beginnings, as the Sign of the Vernal Equinox, spring in the northern hemisphere. As such, the entry signifies a new start in leadership of spiritual matters.
Neptune isn’t alone in the heavens. It’s been traveling with Saturn (currently 28 Pisces), and the possibilities for manifestations wrought by this pair are virtually endless. But to our purpose, the combination represents, on the one hand, religious (Neptune) hierarchy and authority (Saturn); and on the other, the erosion (Neptune) of boundaries (Saturn), such as the stained-glass ceiling which has hitherto prevented females from reaching the highest echelons of many religious traditions.
As well, this pair (and Saturn particularly) is sextile Uranus at 27 Taurus, arbiter of the new, novel, innovative, sometimes controversial or shocking, a record-setter and groundbreaker. Certainly there are naysayers and skeptics of this elevation, something typical when Uranus is involved – people protest what they consider a poor decision. Neptune is also sextile Pluto at 3 Aquarius, which leads off a planetary conglomeration of Mars (4 Aquarius), the Sun (8 Aquarius), Venus, and Mercury (both 13 Aquarius), which together symbolizes a focus (Sun) on a female (Venus) who makes news (Mercury) for a transformation (Pluto) into a powerful (Pluto) leadership role (Mars).
That’s the basics, but if we want to ask “Why Mullally?”, specifically, and “Why now?”, we need to turn to asteroids and other minor bodies for the answers.
As to her celestial fitness for the post, with a stationary asteroid Church 10343 at 14 Sagittarius at birth (born 26 March 1962, no time available), Sarah Mullally was bound to have a strong focus (station) on organized religion (Church), be that as a devoted parishioner, teaching Bible classes or organizing charity events; or in a professional capacity as a fulltime cleric. Church is pivotally placed in a loose Grand Cross, opposed asteroid Bishop 2633 at 19 Gemini (doing double duty here as “Archbishop” as well), suggesting that her religious focus (Church) would be at the career level, involving church hierarchy (Bishop). The crossbars of the Grand Cross are formed by a pairing of Mars at 11 Pisces and Mercury at 16 Pisces opposed Pluto at 8 Virgo, indicating Mullally has a strong (Mars) voice (Mercury) for powerful change and transformation (Pluto).
A Lunar Eclipse at 15 Pisces/Virgo on September 7th energized this pattern, squaring the Church/Bishop polarity. A second Lunar Eclipse at 12 Virgo/Pisces upcoming on March 3rd falls between her confirmation of election and her formal installation as Archbishop, reenergizing the same pair. Further, the Solar Eclipse at 28 Aquarius on February 17th conjoins natal Jupiter at 0 Pisces, co-ruling religion and ecclesiastics with Neptune, helping in part to answer, “Why now?”
Both her prior job as Bishop of London and current promotion to Archbishop of Canterbury can be seen in asteroid markers for these posts that interact with natal Bishop. Asteroid London 8837 at 2 Aquarius is sesquiquadrate Bishop, while asteroid Canterbury 3563 at 18 Scorpio is inconjunct. Canterbury is also sesquiquadrate her 5 Aries Sun and squared natal asteroid Sara 533 at 22 Aquarius, an alternate spelling of Sarah, making the post self-defining for her. Canterbury is conjoined by Neptune at 13 Scorpio and asteroid Brita 1071 at 14 Scorpio, named for Great Britain, and together these square natal Saturn at 8 Aquarius, potentially imbuing Mullally with spiritual (Neptune) authority (Saturn) as the U.K.’s (Brita) primate (Canterbury).
Filling in the gaps of “Why now?” we see that asteroids Sara at 11 Gemini and Bishop at 10 Libra are both embedded at station for her elevation, granting prominence and marking critical turning points (station) for herself personally (Sara) and the archdiocese more generally (Bishop). Sara, which turned direct the day after, is coming to conjoin natal Bishop (19 Gemini). As well, these stations form a Grand Trine with the Sun, and a solar square to asteroid Brita at 7 Taurus makes it plain which realm the Sara and Bishop stations point to.
The announcement was made at 1:39 PM GMT, under a sky which featured asteroids Canterbury at 24 Gemini and Church at 8 Cancer both rising on the 3 Cancer Ascendant. Canterbury is exactly conjoined by the transit Moon, representing women, in a startling nod to cosmic synchronicity and timing, as the first woman ascends to the Canterbury primacy. The 28 Aquarius Midheaven for the event, the point of highest elevation in the chart and the focus of all eyes, conjoins natal Sara at 22 Aquarius and is squared by transit Uranus at 27 Taurus, also opposed Mullally’s natal Uranus at 27 Leo, denoting the record-setting nature of her election.
That 27 Leo Uranus also conjoins the transiting IC at 28 Leo, which is conjoined closely by asteroid Mullahy 16961 at 27 Leo, closest to “Mullally” (which is her married name). Natal asteroid Mullahy at 1 Sagittarius is at station (turning direct three days before her birth), signifying the importance of someone of that name (her eventual husband) in her biography; and was exactly opposed by transit Uranus at its September 5, 2025, station retrograde, prefiguring the record-setting nature of her election and promotion.
ARRESTING DEVELOPMENTS
On 29 January 2026, US Justice Department officials arrested former CNN anchor Don Lemon and local Minnesota journalist Georgia Fort, ostensibly for participating in an anti-ICE protest at a St. Paul church which disrupted Sunday morning services there on January 18th. Lemon clearly identified himself to the pastor of Cities Church as a journalist covering the protest, activity protected by the First Amendment. But as a frequent target of Donald Trump’s ire, Lemon had made the administration’s hit list, and embattled AG Pam Bondi, stymied by federal judges rejecting cases brought against other Trump critics, and forced by congressional action to release the Epstein files against his wishes, jumped on this excuse to make headlines pleasing to her boss.
A T-Square from the 9 Aquarius Sun conjoined Pluto at 3 Aquarius and Mars at 4 Aquarius opposed asteroid Paul 3525 at 11 Leo, with asteroid Justitia 269 on its fulcrum at 15 Scorpio, expresses the Justice Department (Justitia, named for the Roman goddess of justice) taking action (Mars) over supposedly criminal acts (Pluto) in a St. Paul (Paul) venue.
More to the point, asteroid d’Arrest 9133 (signaling arrest, detention, indictments and charges filed) at 5 Virgo interacts with PNAs (Personal-Named Asteroids) identifying those arrested. Asteroids Lemmon 160000 and Forte 8780 (alternate spellings of Lemon and Fort) conjoin at 19 and 17 Aries, sesquiquadrate d’Arrest, which also opposes Damocles 5335 with asteroid Georgia 359 at 2 and 7 Pisces, doubly imaging the looming threat (Damocles) of arrest hanging over Georgia Fort’s (Georgia) head.
As well, asteroid Donn 4689 at 12 Cancer (also for Don Lemon) conjoins Jupiter at 17 Cancer, ruling houses of worship, and asteroid Church 10343 at 8 Cancer. Donn/Church squares Forte/Lemmon, Jupiter is semisquare d’Arrest, and Church/Donn trines Damocles/Georgia, for a tightly-knit network of celestial energies describing the event.
Born 1 March 1966 (no time available), Don Lemon’s birth chart provides advance notice of this turn of events. Principally, a Grand Trine Kite pattern, comprised of the Sun at 10 Pisces conjunct asteroid Lemmon at 14 Pisces, trine to two asteroids which appear at station, indicating major impact in his biography. The first of these is asteroid d’Arrest, which turned direct at 14 Cancer the day after his birth.
The second is asteroid Santa 1288 (Italian feminine form of “saint”) at 14 Scorpio, here acting as stand-in for the city of St. Paul, where Lemon’s alleged infractions occurred. The String of the Kite is formed by an opposition from Sun/Lemmon to a pairing of Uranus and Pluto, both at 17 Virgo, with Uranus representing the protest Lemon was covering, and Pluto the criminal activity he supposedly engaged in. Note that natal d’Arrest aligns with the transit Church/Donn/Jupiter grouping, while natal Santa was conjoined by transit Justitia for his arrest, also squaring the transit Sun and Mercury (journalism) at 9 and 15 Aquarius. Transit d’Arrest at 5 Virgo conjoins natal asteroid Church at 4 Virgo, portraying his arrest for acts performed in a church setting. Natal Church is also semisquare natal d’Arrest.
A Lunar Eclipse on 7 September 2025 at 15 Pisces conjoined natal Sun/Lemmon, setting off the Kite, while the follow-up Lunar Eclipse of March 3rd at 12 Virgo will oppose it, highlighting natal Uranus/Pluto. Natal Mercury (journalist) at 27 Pisces was exactly conjoined by transit Saturn (ruling law enforcement) when the incident occurred. Mercury brings up the rear on a stellium of natal points including Saturn, asteroid Donn and Mars (at 18, 21 and 23 Pisces respectively), which squares a pairing of Jupiter at 21 Gemini with asteroid Paul at 26 Gemini. This is astrologese for Lemon (Donn) paying a penalty (Saturn) for acting (Mars) as a journalist (Mercury) at a church (Jupiter) in St. Paul (Paul). The Solar Eclipse of 21 September 2025 at 29 Virgo opposed Mercury and squared Paul.
Two stories which couldn’t be more disparate in nature, brought to you by that celestial choir formed of asteroid Church conjunct a Quasar.
