Keeping Up with the Trumps: Spring Break Edition
It’s been a head-spinning few weeks, with rising gas and energy prices, increased inflation, and the war with Iran, but somehow, America’s sweethearts, Donald and Melania Trump, have managed to keep us entertained.
After a fashion. From threatening genocide to profane tweets on the holiest day of the Christian calendar, ramshackle ceasefires and blaspheming memes, and vigorous denials of accusations of wrongdoing that haven’t been made, the Trumps have outdone themselves in this first half of April 2026. What follows is a barebones overview of the high jinks and shenanigans.
If Donald Trump is seeming more unhinged than usual of late, there’s good cosmic reason. Transit asteroid MANIAC 228029 has been dogging his natal 22 Gemini Sun for weeks, with its exact conjunction coming in the thick of the Easter weekend. The ground for Trump’s mania has been softened by successive Lunar Eclipses activating natal MANIAC at 14 Virgo, energizing whatever innate potential Trump may have to go off the deep end. Most recently, the Lunar Eclipse of March 3rd at 12 Virgo conjoined it, while the prior Lunar Eclipse of September 7th at 15 Pisces opposed it.
BORN THAT WAY
On April Fool’s Day, the US Supreme Court heard oral arguments in defense of President Donald Trump’s executive order banning birthright citizenship, which denies this right to children born of parents lacking permanent legal status in the US. Trump signed the order on the first day of his second term in office, 20 January 2025, despite the plain text of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which reads: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
The SCOTUS is the judicial body charged with calling balls and strikes on what is and isn’t constitutional, and therefore legal, in the US. Given the clear language of the Amendment, anything other than a 9-0 smackdown of Trump’s executive order should be unthinkable, but the Court’s conservative 6-3 supermajority, with three Justices appointed by Trump himself, gives cause for concern. Although still highly unlikely to pass muster once the Court makes its ruling, close attention is being paid to how Trump lickspittle Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Brett Kavanaugh, the most hardline conservatives on the bench, weigh in.
The controversy is part and parcel of the ongoing conjunction between Saturn at 5 Aries and Neptune at 2 Aries, here manifesting as an attempt to erode (Neptune) the US Constitution, the foundational document establishing the US government (Saturn). Neptune obfuscates, confuses, misdirects and deceives, while Saturn is known for withholding or denying, both key elements of the case. The passage of the Sun (currently 11 Aries) over this zone in the past ten days is casting a bright spotlight on issues associated with this pairing.
Mercury at 14 Pisces, planet of discussion, debate and decision, is currently trine Jupiter at 15 Cancer, holding sway over the judiciary generally, and the US Supreme Court in particular. This linkage well depicts the oral arguments (Mercury) in the SCOTUS (Jupiter) setting. Set to begin at 10 AM EDT, Mercury is also tightly squared the 13 Gemini Ascendant, with the Horizontal Axis of Ascendant/Descendant (13 Gemini/Sagittarius) essentially a 180-degree flip of the US natal degrees (12 Sagittarius/Gemini), tying the moment directly to the nation’s founding. This can create a “bizarro world,” alternate universe effect, where things seem turned on their head, in direct conflict with reality as we know it. As well, the chart’s Midheaven (or MC) at 20 Aquarius conjoins the US natal Moon at 27 Aquarius, representing its citizens, the definition of which forms the crux of the case.
The Mercury/Ascendant square becomes a T-Square with the addition of asteroid Themis 24 at 15 Sagittarius conjunct the Descendant and embedded at station, granting it additional cosmic clout. Themis is named for the Greek goddess of justice, representative of the nine Justices on the Supreme Court, and the Descendant describes to how we relate to each other; in this instance, symbolizing the SCOTUS (Themis) decision (Mercury) over who is a peer, and who an outsider (Descendant). With Themis is asteroid Sauer 9248 at 18 Sagittarius, likewise at station, representing US Solicitor General John Sauer, who argued for the government.
Also at station, asteroid Washingtonia 886 at 4 Leo, which opposes an exact conjunction of Pluto and asteroid Demokritos 6129 at 5 Aquarius. Washingtonia represents Washington DC, the seat of federal government, of which Donald Trump is the head, creating an existential crisis (Pluto) regarding who may participate in our democracy (Demokritos).
The case being argued is “Trump v Barbara,” named for a Honduran woman resident in the US, using only her first name for her safety. Asteroid Barbara 234 at 19 Libra forms a Grand Cross, opposed the Sun at 11 Aries, and squared to asteroid Nemesis 128 at 16 Capricorn and a pairing of Jupiter with asteroid Donn 4689 at 15 & 16 Cancer. Barbara and Donn neatly encapsulate the first names of plaintiff and defendant (Donald Trump); Nemesis signals an opponent or enemy; Jupiter evokes the judicial setting; and the Sun brings focus and attention to the matter.
The fate of children born in the US to parents without legal residency is summed up nicely by asteroid Child 4580 at 12 Taurus squared asteroid America 916 at 16 Leo and semisquare asteroid NOT 2857 at 28 Pisces, a general disqualifier or symbol of negation. Are these minors (Child) US citizens (America), or aren’t they (NOT)?
Donald Trump attended the SCOTUS hearing in person, in a precedent-shattering move, as the first US president ever to do so. This is seen as asteroid Justitia 269 at 28 Scorpio, named for the Roman goddess of justice, exactly opposed Uranus at 28 Taurus, governing record-breaking, novelty, and controversy, with this basic polarity bisected by asteroid Whitehouse 4036 at 27 Capricorn, indicating the presidency, in sextile and trine.
As Themis has come to station, multiple judicial setbacks have plagued Trump, from curbs on his right to organize private funding for his vaunted White House ballroom, to allowing civil suits based in his January 6th Capitol Insurrection actions to proceed. That power struggles with the courts would prove pivotal to the second Trump administration generally is prefigured in the inauguration chart for 20 January 2025, which features the Sun at 0 Aquarius conjunct Pluto at 1 Aquarius, ruling power, opposed Justitia at 5 Leo. The “Trump v Barbara” case is noted specifically by asteroid Barbara’s (2 Leo) conjunction with Justitia. As well, asteroid Themis at 13 Virgo is at station, turning retrograde and sesquiquadrate the Sun, another indicator of the primacy of the courts. That American democracy could be at risk is exemplified in asteroid Demokritos at 28 Virgo, opposed asteroid America at 23 Pisces, in a T-Square with asteroid NOT at 27 Sagittarius.
EASTER DREGS
Up bright and early like the Easter Bunny, US President Donald Trump was posting holiday threats at Iran on Easter Sunday, 5 April 2026, hippity-hopping through international diplomacy as he promised to fill his adversary’s basket with brightly colored bombs aimed at critical infrastructure, unless the Iranian government acceded to his (latest) deadline for opening the Strait of Hormuz.
This was no birdsong tweeting, as might be expected on a fine spring morning. In a homily apparently taken from a Monty Python-esque “Book of Armaments,” Trump lectured: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
One must admire the economy of phraseology which enabled Trump to offend both Christians (with a profane tweet on their holiest day of the year) and Muslims (sarcastically using their deity’s name) in one brief post, with potentially as many as 5 billion souls affronted. Perhaps, having lost out in his quest for the Nobel Peace Prize, Trump is trying for the Guiness Book of World Records as creating the most offensive post ever. Trump has proposed similar action before, pushing back the infrastructure bombing deadline further and further, until it reaches the vanishing point on the horizon. Time will tell whether these threats are empty ones, but the content of the post has raised serious questions about the American Commander in Chief’s mental stability.
When the post was issued at 8:03 AM EDT in Washington, DC, the Moon at 24 Scorpio opposed Uranus at 28 Gemini, both of which have been related, culturally or astrologically, to altered mental states. The Moon – Luna in Latin – has given its name to lunacy, defined as extreme foolishness, senseless actions, or irrational behavior. It is also an old-fashioned term for mental illness or insanity, historically believed to be affected by the moon’s phases. Astrologically Uranus represents madness, especially in its manic stages, and also rules volatility and shocking, controversial, socially unacceptable or maverick behaviors. Personalizing this to Donald Trump is the Moon’s placement, exactly opposed his natal Midheaven, the point symbolizing status, reputation and place in the world. The Midheaven (or MC) is the point of highest elevation in the chart, the focus of all eyes, making Trump’s unhinged pronouncements widely visible.
The ongoing union between Saturn at 6 Aries and Neptune at 2 Aries also symbolizes heads of state (Saturn) with compromised mental powers, with Neptune reflecting the more depressive end of the insanity spectrum, evoking deterioration and breakdown of the faculties. The connection to Trump here comes in the form of this pair’s square to Trump’s natal Mercury (8 Cancer), ruling the mind, intelligence, rational thought and communication, highlighting the US president as one world leader who may be especially susceptible to the Saturn/Neptune tug on global psyches.
The Sun at 15 Aries squared Jupiter at 16 Cancer places a spotlight (Sun) on foreign affairs and international relations (Jupiter), with Donald Trump prominent in the mix, as asteroid Donn at 17 Cancer, conjoined Jupiter. Jupiter is also noted for bombast and braggadocio, and inflating or exacerbating anything it touches, making it bigger, for good or ill. A Grand Cross is completed with the Sun’s exact opposition to asteroid Achilles 588 at 15 Libra and square to asteroid Nemesis at 17 Capricorn.
Achilles has a wide range of expression, including military matters and soldiery in general, bravery and strength, but also weakness or vulnerability (as in “Achilles heel,” a point of inherent weakness which threatens to destroy the individual). It’s hard to say, in the context of this conflict, just whose weakness has been exposed, on various levels.
Nemesis represents enemies or opponents, and is also noted as the bringer of ruin and destruction, often self-created. Asteroid Donn’s exact opposition to Nemesis singles out Trump as especially associated with this energy, but again, with soaring gas prices in the US and plummeting approval numbers for Trump, opinions vary as to who is bringing ruin to whom.
The Sun/Achilles polarity also forms the spine of another major pattern, a Grand Trine Kite, with trine aspects to asteroid Bellona 28 at 16 Sagittarius, named for the Roman goddess of war, and a trio of points in Leo, all powerfully embedded at station. Stationary bodies exert greater influence and force than typically, as the still points upon which the chart revolves, and represent major turning points for the energies or entities involved. In this case, the heavy hitters are asteroids America at 16 Leo, Washingtonia and Bomben 12834 (both at 4 Leo), with Bomben a celestial stand-in for “bombs and bombing.”
Technically, the latter two are a bit wide of inclusion in the pattern, but their close opposition to Pluto at 5 Aquarius, ruling devastation and total destruction, ably describes the threats issued from DC (Washingtonia), including bombing (Bomben) Iran into the Stone Age, by completely destroying (Pluto) their infrastructure, which would constitute a war crime.
Speaking of threats, that Moon/Uranus opposition doesn’t stand alone. With the Moon is asteroid Toro 1685 at 25 Scorpio, noted for bullying, intimidation and threats; and with Uranus is asteroid Ophelia 171 at 21 Taurus, named for the character in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” who goes insane and drowns herself. This dovetails nicely with the supposition that Trump’s mental stability may be fraying at the edges, and as these two straddle his natal MC, that breakdown is on full display for all the world to see.
Donald Trump is further emphasized in the moment of his tweeting by asteroid Donn at 17 Cancer conjunct the IC at 25 Cancer, the foundational base of the chart, and asteroid Whitehouse at 28 Capricorn, representing the US presidency, conjunct the MC at 25 Capricorn, its apex. The Angles are the fastest-moving factors in a chart, changing degrees every four minutes, so Trump is only highlighted in this matter for minutes each day. At the midpoint of this opposition lies TNO Eris 136199 at 25 Aries, square to each, named for the Greek goddess of strife and discord, also known as the “nurse of war.”
Trump seemingly has been sucking at that teat rather often of late, as he enters his second childhood.
DIRE STRAITS
After menacing Iran with total destruction of their civilian infrastructure for weeks, including a threat on Tuesday 17 April that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if the Mid-East nation doesn’t accede to US President Donald Trump’s demands to reopen the shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz, the two warring nations entered into a tentative ceasefire agreement, mere minutes before the deadline. Details are sparse and unconfirmed, but a two-week pause on hostilities has been granted to allow parties to come to a more formal understanding. Meanwhile, the Strait will reopen as a vital chokepoint on the global oil supply chain, hopefully easing economic strain that has sent gas and energy prices soaring worldwide.
And so does Donald Trump end a crisis of his own making, but not without a deterioration in the status quo, from the Western point of view. Before the conflict erupted on 28 February, the Strait of Hormuz was open to all without restriction; it was Trump’s ill-advised attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran which precipitated their closing of the crucial waterway. Now things are back to the status quo ante bellum, with several important tweaks, all in Iran’s favor. US sanctions on Iranian oil have been dropped, in an effort to ease global shortages (allowing Iran’s government to reap greater profits from their output), and Iran now insists on prior authorization from their military for use of the Strait, and a right to impose tolls on those who travel it, as financial compensation for the destruction wrought by weeks of US and Israeli bombing.
A pause in hostilities, however brief it may prove, was heralded by the heavens, with Mars at 28 Pisces, arbiter of war and conflict, fast approaching the ongoing conjunction of Neptune at 2 Aries and Saturn at 6 Aries. Neptune here signals the confused, uncertain, shifting sands of the current negotiations, which lack focus, with a potential accent on deception or disillusion (all Neptune traits). This holds sway while Mars is focused on its conjunction with Neptune, exact on April 13th.
When Mars passes on to conjoin Saturn a week later (April 20th), there may be hope for a permanent cessation of hostilities, with Saturn ruling endings, even as the two-week ceasefire comes to its conclusion. But illusory hope is ruled by Neptune, and practicality is ruled by Saturn; while the two are conjoined, wishful thinking (Neptune) is trumped by harsh realities (Saturn). These talks could very well begin in confusion (Neptune) and end in frustration (Saturn).
Jupiter at 16 Cancer is squared by the Sun at 17 Aries and trined by Mercury at 20 Pisces, placing a spotlight (Sun) on news (Mercury) about negotiations (Mercury also) relating to foreign relations and international agreements (Jupiter). Venus at 9 Taurus, arbiter of peace and diplomacy, squares Pluto at 5 Aquarius, signaling major change and transformation, also ruling criminal acts, such as the mooted war crimes in Trump’s social media posts, which thankfully have not come to pass (so far).
The defining energy of the time is a pair of stationing asteroids which align flawlessly with facts on the ground to form a celestial reflection of the ceasefire. Bodies at station exert a much greater influence than normal, as they appear to stand still in the heavens, and become the focus of attention. In this case, the bodies involved are asteroids America at 16 Leo, named for the continent but resonating to the US; and Bellona at 17 Sagittarius, named for the Roman goddess of war. Stations of these points imply major shifts in direction for the associated places, persons or themes, and the timing here is perfection personified, with America turning direct on April 4th, the day before Trump’s escalating threats posted on Easter morning, and Bellona turning retrograde on April 9th, two days after the ceasefire was announced. This describes a major change (station) in the US (America) attitude toward the war (Bellona), further heightened by the Sun moving into position to form a Grand Trine with these, guaranteeing high visibility for the event.
The Sun forms a second major pattern, a T-Square, with the inclusion of asteroid Nemesis at 17 Capricorn exactly squared, and opposed Jupiter. This symbolizes enemies or opponents (Nemesis) coming to the bargaining table (Jupiter), and additional asteroid tweaks provide particulars, with asteroids Israel 7507 at 13 Cancer and Donn at 18 Cancer conjoined Jupiter. This identifies Trump (Donn) and his purported ally Netanyahu (Israel) acting at cross-purposes (Nemesis), with Israel claiming the ceasefire agreement doesn’t apply to them, and continuing massive destruction campaigns in Lebanon, for which Iran is retaliating.
Further curbs on martial action appear as asteroid NOT at 0 Aries, a general disqualifier or symbol of negation, conjoined warrior Mars at 28 Pisces and opposed asteroid Pax 679 at 23 Virgo, named for the Latin word for “peace.” NOT/Mars applies the brakes, and Pax steers the course for peace. Mercury at 20 Pisces is also part of this mix, opposing asteroid Pax at 23 Virgo, bringing news of talks (both Mercury) to end (NOT) the war (Mars) and establish peace (Pax). Remarkably, Mars joins up with NOT at the same degrees from April 14th through the 17th (exact on the 16th), as negotiations unfold. Again, additional asteroids provide additional data: a pairing of asteroids Jerusalem 63163 at 1 Capricorn and Irani 18987 at 2 Capricorn specifies two of the major players as Israel (Jerusalem, named for its capital) and Iran (Irani, an adjectival form of the word) square Mars/NOT, offering the potential for a cessation of hostilities between the two.
The talks are not without risk. The Jerusalem/Irani conjunction forms a Yod, a “fated” pattern also called the Finger of Destiny, with a sextile to Damocles 5335 at 8 Pisces, both inconjunct to asteroid Washingtonia at 4 Leo on the Apex, also at station, indicating major change underway. Damocles indicates a looming threat or peril (as in “Sword of Damocles”) involving the three major combatants (Jerusalem/Israel, Irani/Iran, US/Washingtonia). Further, Donald Trump may be personally affected in a negative way, with asteroid Whitehouse at 28 Capricorn, symbolizing the US presidency, encroaching on Pluto at 5 Aquarius, known for providing devastating, life-changing outcomes. With Whitehouse also squared asteroid Pandora 55 at 22 Libra, Trump may come to bitterly regret he ever opened this particular Pandora’s Box.
MELANIA UNCHAINED
No, not the latest Quentin Tarantino epic. On Thursday, 9 April 2026, First Lady Melania Trump appeared at a White House podium and issued a six-minute statement, strongly denying any connection to or knowledge of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activities. The topic of her speech was not released beforehand, leaving White House staffers agog as she proceeded to rebut that which had never been asserted, and called for public hearings in Congress where Epstein survivors could tell their stories. Even her husband expressed himself surprised.
Among the statements made, Melania claimed, “I have never been friends with Epstein. … To be clear, I never had a relationship with Epstein or his accomplice, Maxwell. … I am not Epstein’s victim. Epstein did not introduce me to Donald Trump. … I am not a witness or a named witness in connection with any of Epstein’s crimes. … I have never had any knowledge of Epstein’s abuse of his victims. … I have never been legally accused or convicted of a crime in connection with Epstein’s sex trafficking, abuse of minors, and other repulsive behavior.”
Mrs. Trump’s name has never appeared in any press reports about the sex offender’s crimes, leading to head-scratching among pundits as to her motive for the bizarre speech. The mystery intensified as Melania called for official action: “Now is the time for Congress to act. Epstein was not alone. Several prominent male executives resigned from their powerful positions after this matter became widely politicized. Of course, this doesn’t amount to guilt, but we still must work openly and transparently to uncover the truth. I call on Congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing specifically centered around the survivors. Give these victims their opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress, with the power of sworn testimony. Each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public, if she wishes, and then her testimony should be permanently entered into the Congressional Record. Then, and only then, will we have the truth.”
The speech occurred almost to the minute as Mars, the planet governing sex, passed from passive, victimized Pisces to assertive, combative Aries, underscoring Melania’s plea to empower abuse survivors. Her call for witnesses to publicly speak their truth is neatly encapsulated by a conjunction of asteroids Askalaphus 4946 and Truth 249521, at 27 and 29 Leo, both at station. Askalaphus is named for the gardener of Hades (who informed on the abducted rape victim Persephone’s ingestion of six pomegranate seeds, requiring her to remain in the Underworld), and represents witnesses and testimony in general. The day also featured an exact opposition from asteroid Epstein 2928 at 0 Taurus to asteroid Jeffers 1934 at 0 Scorpio (an alternate form of Jeffrey), forming a T-Square with Pluto at 5 Aquarius on the fulcrum, joined by asteroid Veritas 490 at 9 Aquarius, named for the Latin word for “truth.” Pluto rules criminal acts and has specific resonance to rape, with Pluto the Roman version of the Greek god Hades, Persephone’s abuser. Asteroid Melanie 688 at 19 Gemini feeds into this pattern, semisquare Epstein and sesquiquadrate both Pluto and Jeffers.
Melanie is also exactly sextile the 19 Aries Sun, placing the First Lady in the spotlight, and squared a pairing of Mercury at 22 Pisces with centaur Nessus 7066 at 21 Pisces, with Mercury ruling speeches, statements and news, and Nessus named for another mythic Greek rapist, a signature of “men behaving badly,” typically in a sexual context. The Sun is focal of a second T-Square, with Jupiter at 16 Cancer and asteroid Nemesis at 17 Capricorn, perhaps presenting Melania Trump as a political (Jupiter) enemy or opponent (Nemesis) of her husband in this matter, who definitely does have strong, long-term ties to Epstein.
Despite her denials, the cosmos provides evidence that Epstein was, or has become, a formative agent in Melania Trump’s bio. Born 26 April 1970 (no time available), Melania’s 6 Taurus Sun forms a T-Square, opposed Jupiter at 0 Scorpio with asteroid Jeffrich 262295 (another Jeffrey variant) at 3 Scorpio, and asteroid Epstein at 3 Leo on the fulcrum. This type of solar connectivity can suggest intimacy or alignment; at minimum, it showcases individuals who are powerful influences, for good or ill. As well, both asteroids Jeffers and Geoffroy 12896 (alternate spelling) are embedded at station, indicating someone of prime importance. Jeffers at 5 Virgo turned direct the day after her birth; Geoffroy at 27 Leo turned direct the day before. Note that transit Askalaphus’ station fells exactly atop the natal stationary Geoffroy, while the transit Epstein/Jeffers polarity interacts precisely with natal Jupiter.
DOPE V POPE
A lopsided feud appears to have broken out between the two most powerful Americans on the planet, US President Donald J. Trump and the first American pope, Leo XIV. The verbal running battle began April 12th, after Trump took personal exception to general anti-war statements made by the pontiff, calling him “weak on crime and terrible for foreign policy,” a strange critique of someone with no temporal authority.
Trump followed up his social media post with an image of himself clad in suspiciously Christlike attire, apparently healing an injured serviceman with brilliant white light emanating from his palms. The one-upmanship seems plain: the Pope may be God’s representative on Earth, but I’m the real deal!
Blowback on the blasphemous image was swift and comprehensive, across the political spectrum, and especially among Trump’s evangelical base, causing the White House to do something it rarely does – remove the offending post. Trump’s feeble assertions that he thought the image just portrayed him as a doctor fell flat, But undaunted, within days Trump had posted an image of himself being embraced by Jesus, as the next best thing to being him.
The makings of the fracas are clearly visible in the heavens, just by looking at what was standing still at the time. Asteroids Washingtonia, America and Vaticana 416 are strung out through Leo, but each at station, indicating vital turning points have been reached, with their terrestrial referents both clamoring, and competing, for global attention and notice. Washingtonia had turned direct March 27th at 4 Leo, America followed suit on April 4th, but it was Vaticana’s station at 29 Leo, exactly atop Donald Trump’s Ascendant, also conjunct his Mars at 26 Leo, which provoked the assault. Vaticana turned direct April 17th, during the midst of the conflict, in exact square to Uranus at 29 Taurus, reflecting the shock, surprise, volatility and controversy of the posts.
This identifies the relevant nation-states involved (America, Vaticana), but there are personal markers at station as well, indicating the intimacy of the exchange. Before his election as pope, Leo’s legal identity was as Robert Prevost, so it’s no surprise to find asteroid Roberts 3428, the surname form, also at station at 20 Sagittarius, turning retrograde on April 17th, same date as Vaticana. Also here is asteroid Troemper 28130, our celestial referent for The Donald, which turns retro at 1 Capricorn April 25th, but already inhabits its station degree. As well, asteroid Pappos 29448 (cognate to Papa, “pope” in Italian) at 15 Sagittarius had turned retrograde at 16 Sagittarius a week before, presaging changes to come, but had moved off its station degree in the interim.
